Codemasters' F1 Online

Top down view.... Eh not my personal taste.
"As the worldwide gaming market evolves, 2012 is the perfect time to extend this series to the free-to-play market," Codemasters' online VP David Solar said in a statement. The game is set to be released in a browser near you in Q1 2012, yes it's a browser-based game. The game will "give players the chance to be the driver and the team boss in a game that combines intuitive top down racing gameplay with a rewarding management game as players create and manage their own team".

It's an interesting concept; a full-blown free-to-play racer on the PC with meticulous detail. However, personally I much prefer the racing genre on a console than the conventional computer. For me a racing game just feels much more immersive when it's first person or extremely zoomed-in 3rd person and on a console. Feel free to disagree with me though and post your opinions in the comments section below.
